I took a break from console and handheld games for about 3 weeks in May. I have to specify ‘console and handheld’ because I was still dabbling in casual fare like Candy Crush and Shepherd’s Crossing Online from time to time. I can’t blame casual gamers any more – ‘proper’ games just require too much of a money, time and energy investment and the payoff for the games I played most recently was quite low. It’s good to take a break from an activity sometimes, just to get some perspective. I learned quite a bit from the experience, chief among them being: Do please go on, this is most interesting
Uh… apparently there’s this thing called a Liebster Award?
The Liebster Award is some blogger ‘award’… thingy? You don’t really ‘win’ anything though, you just have to answer some questions and then nominate another blogger to answer some questions. It’s like those “Pass this on to 10 people in 10 minutes or you’ll lose $10,000!” kind of messages, only a little less pushy, I guess? But Isleif was kind enough to nominate me and I like his blog, so I’ll answer the questions, at least. [I don’t plan to nominate anyone, but leave a comment if you want to be nominated and I’ll do it ‘cos, why not?] Do please go on, this is most interesting
3DS circle pad stuck! :-<
:-(((((((
I mentioned a while ago that I have a 3DS at my disposal until the new Fire Emblem comes out whenever. I’m done replaying Awakening, so I thought I’d get a 3DS game or two to pass the time. That said, I wasn’t really interested in Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, but what the heck, it’s been almost 5 years since I last played an HM, I used to be a huge fan of the series, let’s see what they added to the mix, etc etc. The only games I’d played on the 3DS to date were FE: Awakening and Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies, none of which used the circle pad, so it never even occurred to me to check the control system first. Rrrgh… Tales of Hearts…[okay, dropped]
I can’t decide whether to drop it or not. I’m 29 hours in so I should be done in 7 hours but rrrghh… I don’t know if I want to put that time into Tales of Hearts any more. It’s been going up and down in quality from the start, but now it’s just, rrrggh… Do please go on, this is most interesting
Coded Soul: Uketsugareshi Idea – Introduction
Forgive me. For once I’m just going to steal the story summary from Wikipedia:
An army has been conducting research into Monolith Gate, the door to the world of ‘Idea’. That door is controlled by Gail, a young boy who gives Jay, a soldier, special power to travel to the other side to save his girlfriend, May [note: she’s not Jay’s girlfriend. Or Gail’s either.]. The special power grants [Jay] the ability to control monsters by sucking up their souls. Once you’ve defeated a foe, you can make them into your ally for use during future battles. You can take up to two monsters with you on your treks into Idea, selecting from eventually over 100 beasts.
