Just a quick update to say I beat the Oblitergator in the Water Shrine! He wasn’t so tough. In fact, he wasn’t tough at all. I must have been sleepy when I fought him the first time, or maybe the two level ups I got while farming teardrops made all the difference. Either way he’s dead and I’m currently tearing my way through the Wind Shrine. Everything got much easier once I forged the Icifier and James gave me a platinum ring (sweeeet!) for getting his friendship up to level 6. My next objectives are:
– Get Lily’s affection up to level 10. I need to find out what ridiculous hoops the game will need me to jump through before I can make her mine.
– Keep raising other villager’s affections. It’s much easier now that I have lots of crops and my cooking level is around 75. A few villagers like Gerrard, Sierra and the kids keep falling through the cracks either because they’re hard to please or because I hardly ever see them, but apart from them I’m doing pretty well. I always keep the following in my bag in case I run into any townspeople:
Pickles – for Odette. Once in a while I give her Ratatouille too, when I feel like spoiling her.
Dried sardines/Fried Fall Flounder – for Bacchus
Fried/salted fish – for Mikoto and Beatrix. Mikoto loves the fish and Beatrix likes any cooked dish.
Pudding – for James.
Recovery potion – for Joe.
Popcorn – for Bismark.
Fruit parfait – for Lily, though I’m out of pineapples now so I’ll have to start giving her cherries.
Pink Cat/Moondrop – for both Violet and Maerwen
Oak – for Electra. I have more than I know what to do with.
Iron/Bronze – for Elena. I have more than I know what to do with.
Ruby – for Pandora. I was lucky to harvest a lot from Winter Island. I gave her a couple of Rune Crystals, then I realized how ideal those are for boss fights (no usage delay) so they all go into my personal collection now.
All that takes up very little space and builds up my relationships nicely.
– Grind up my weapon forging level another 7 levels approx. so I can make myself a lovely little Dragonslayer. World conquest, here I come! I already have all the ingredients I need and 99+99 pieces of Scrap Metal to practice with. It’s the first thing I’ll do next time I turn the Wii on.
Since all the fun has been taking out of fishing/farming/mining my two objectives for Rune Factory Tides of Destiny are 1. Marry Lily (maybe) and 2. Kill any boss that rears its ugly head. This shouldn’t take too long (says the person who has already played 49 hours).
